• Cut out all of the neta(toppings).
• Glue them to the shari(sushi rice).
• Build your own sushi!

Sushi Vocabulary

• ねた(neta): Sushi toppings
• しゃり(shari): Sushi rice. Cooked rice mixed with sushi vinegar.
• がり(gari): Pickled ginger

• まぐろ(maguro): Tuna
• サーモン(sa-mon): Salmon
• えび(ebi): Shrimp
• たまご(tamago): Egg
• いか(ika): Squid

• にぎりずし(nigirizushi): Hand-shaped shari with a slice of neta on top.
• まきずし(makizushi): Sushi roll
• ぐんかんまき(gunkanmaki): Hand-shaped shari with neta on top, wrapped with nori(seaweed)

• てっかまき(tekkamaki): Tuna sushi roll
• かっぱまき(kappamaki): Cucumber sushi roll
